Rough first pass @eporter23.
The teal is a secondary color and I can always chage it! lol
Max and Clare are collaborating on this.
Hi Max and Clare, great start on this! I added a few checkboxes in the description above to recap the major content sections from the word doc, if you can take a look at those. A few things aren't shown in the mockup so far, including Collections and Browse options.
Also, if you want me to provide more content samples of what some of these may contain, let me know!
here is another option that keeps the hyrax tabs
and of course we could use different components from each.
Thanks all, these are great ideas, and I appreciate having 2 options to look at! I've got some feedback and thoughts about both versions, so I think it'd be good for us to check in as a group. I'll look for a time this week.
Met with Max and Clare on 11/12. We discussed a hybrid of both of the mockups noted above. Followups will include
We also discussed that Collection thumbnails may continue to be an issue in terms of how to redesign them. Also the hero image selection and gradient behavior may need more investigation.
@eporter23
Thanks for adding all the changes so quickly, @maxdmayhew ! A couple of comments:
I'm not sure if the screenshot is getting stretched or distorted, but I'd prefer that the Publication Spotlight, Recently Uploaded, and Statistics "rows" are the same width. The header and footer can be wider than the "content" section as needed. Given that we don't know how many collections we will have, I'd prefer to have them in more of a list treatment. They should also include their Description.
Here is a hasty wireframe of what I'm describing.
For the Collections block, I'm finding the blue background a little distracting.
Happy to discuss more in a call if that helps!
For this ticket, please create one or more mockups for the homepage. This will be pre-work before we actually make implementation changes.
Please see the following document that includes a textual description of the content specifications for the homepage. This includes revisions to existing Hyrax homepage elements as well as removals of some content. We have also identified some new content that is not currently part of what Hyrax provides in its homepage.
