Is your feature request related to new functionality not yet included in the product? Please describe. In discoverE, I could email a record to myself that included a link to the record, a detailed citation, and most crucially the library & call number where the item was located. Then, when I was on-site, I’d use the email as a prompt to pull the book and borrow it, without having to look it up again. I’d really love to have that feature available in Library Search as well.

Is your feature request related to a problem or a change to existing functionality? Please describe. A clear and concise description of what the problem is. Ex. It is very difficult to [...] because [...]

Describe the solution you'd like When viewing records in the catalog I want to send them to myself by email. The email should contain a citation for the resource and also the call number and library location.

Describe alternatives you've considered A clear and concise description of any alternative solutions or workarounds you've considered.

How will this impact users? A clear and concise description of how many and which types of users would benefit from this feature, or any who may be negatively impacted by the change.

Response from Emily to original request:

Unfortunately, the reason we don’t already offer an email option is because our Emory AWS web hosting infrastructure does not allow us to send emails through our application using Emory email services. This has been a constraint for us in other cloud-hosted applications, too.

When we begin our next review of enhancement requests we can contact the Emory AWS team again and see if anything has changed, policy-wise. They have had a long-running initiative to migrate more Emory IT services to the cloud.
