Display Squadron Alumni on Squadron pages (or via lookup) #130

Something that was brought up as a cool idea would be a way to look up previous members, reservists etc, to see who used to be on certain squadrons without having to hunt down a pilot via personal search and scour their history to see if they used to be on a specific squadron.

One way would to have an alumni page/tab on each individual squadron page listing squadron alumni, however I'm not sure if this is easily done due to how members are categorized by their current squadron/ship etc

The site has always only stored current assignment in any meaningful sense.

Currently the only practical way of getting at the data would be parsing member historical records. We could add in a search function for historical records that might help facilitate unit research.

We've somewhat considered trying to parse this data into searchable assignment history, but considering ID line format changes over the years, reflagged units, and some other factors we're thinking the juice just isn't worth the squeeze at the moment.

Definitely understandable, more of a wishlist item and not a priority by any means
