fix: backport bug fixes from 4.3 #190

Overwrites the current implementation directly with the latest code from e4.3.3

The CI fails because rebar.conf.script points to emqx:e4.2.7 version instead of dev/e4.2.8.

For convenience, we ran the cases locally and made sure it passed.
