Adding enrolment to ELMO

Proposal for additional data support in ELMO 2.1. Need a discussion on how to group these data within ELMO.

The introduction of SDG/OOTS has some addition requirements regarding proof of enrolment that is not supported by ELMO at the moment.

Requirements from OOTS

Proof of certificate of admission to secondary education institution

• Request for evidence proving the admission of the person (evidence subject) to a secondary education (EQF level 3) institution; note that although related to proof of enrolment it is not intrinsically equivalent to it.
• name of study programme, study programme (official) duration in years/months, start date of academic year, end date of academic year, given name, family name, name of secondary education institution

Proof of enrolment in secondary education institution

• Request for evidence proving that the person (evidence subject) is enrolled in upper secondary (EQF level 3) studies that give direct access to tertiary education (EQF level 6). The studies' orientation may be general or vocational.
• given name, family name, date of enrolment, country of academic institution, name of secondary education institution of enrolment

Proof of enrolment in tertiary education institution

• Request for evidence proving that the person (evidence subject) is enrolled in tertiary education (EQF levels 6/7/8) studies. Only general (i.e. non-vocational) studies are considered.
• given name, family name, name of study programme, date of enrolment, country of academic institution, name of tertiary education institution of enrolment

Proof of enrolment in tertiary education of sibling (May not be supported by EMREX/ELMO)

• Request for evidence proving that the person's (evidence subject) sibling is enrolled in tertiary education (EQF levels 6/7/8) studies. Only general (i.e. non-vocational) studies are considered.
• given name, family name, name of tertiary education institution, name of study programme, date of enrolment, country of academic institution, given name of sibling, family name of sibling, """has sibling"" relation"

Meeting 28 June (Tor, Mirko, Jan-Joost, Geir) Proposal for solution: We keep the existing ELMO structure, and start using LOS/LOI-structure also for enrolment. All LOI to describe enrolment must then be updated with status "in-progress". The schema description for "in-progress" should be updated with information that the student in this case is enrolled to the LOI, has started the study and/or is studying right now.

If any enrolment system requires the names of your siblings, they should take a hard look at their system.

Proof of certificate of admission to secondary education institution (A) and Proof of enrolment in secondary education institution (E)

The distinction between those two is unnecessarily complicated EU better redefine it.

• To gain access tot tertiary education in NL you need at minimum EQF 4 (general or vocational)
• Although often you might need more specific subjects like Math or 'selection at the gate".

"Direct Access tot 3rd education (E)" will not be of much use. More telling when applying for 3rd education is information about the progress of the learner within a nominally 5 or 6 year study. For instance: expected graduation day.
