friendlier error messages #31

right now the error messages are really generic. Probably can improve the
language so that it is more user-friendly.

One error that took me a bit to figure out that could use a nicer message (it 
gave a 
generic "something unexpected happened, please restart") is when you click on 
the 
twitter username link and the twitter updates for that user are 
protected/locked.  
The generic error confused me from what the actual problem was (that I didn't 
realize that user's updates were protected and I didn't have access to them).
