[Issue]: Wavebird controller droping in Eternal darkness sanity's requiem #806

Closed Pearlh2hoe closed 1 year ago

Describe the bug

when playing eternal darkness (PAL) in my gamecube with a wavebird controller, if the reciever is plugged to player 1, the controller connects, disconnects and repeats, if i switch the reciever to player 2 the controller connects and stays connected. i have tested the game on my wii with the same controller and everyhing works fine this is the only game im having issues with as everything else works fine.

Steps to reproduce

plug in the reciever to slot 1 and boot eternal darkness

Expected behavior

expected for the controller to work

Cannot reproduce as this is a hardware fault. You likely have a broken solder joint on your DOL-FRNT-* board.

Pearlh2hoe commented 1 year ago

how can this be a hardware fault if regular wired controllers and the same controller works on every other game?

Pearlh2hoe commented 1 year ago

i booted swiss on my wii and tested, the controller stays connected but spams random buttons and doesent take in joystick input. once again, this controller works on any other game and i dont have issues if i just plug in a wired controller

You failed to mention here that you're using a knockoff, which work completely differently to an actual WaveBird Controller. See issue #428.

Pearlh2hoe commented 1 year ago

oh im sorry i completely overlooked that, how did you find it out without me saying it?

Extrems commented 1 year ago

You did say it, on Reddit.

Pearlh2hoe commented 1 year ago

oh lmao, didnt expect it. anyways, is there any work arround? i read issue 428 but couldnt find a solution

Extrems commented 1 year ago

There's currently none, hence that issue still being open.

Pearlh2hoe commented 1 year ago

are there any older revisions of swiss without this issue?
