Anyway to manage NAS from IPAD? #337

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. FTP from IPAD (using FTP program or with safari)
2. SSH from IPAD (using SSH program)
3. Webserver from IPAD (using safari via HTTP)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When launching FTP from Internet explorer or any Windows (7) based program, the
output works as expected. However, I can not get any positive results on an
IPAD. I would love to be able to manage files and remotely use the BT client on
IPAD without having to start my PC.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows 7 + Apple IPAD (IOS 6.1) SNAKE OS V1.3.2 (20111019)

Please provide any additional information below.
Has anyone managed to get the NAS reachable and manageable from an IPAD?

Hi,
I can't directly ping it (don't know any IOS program for that), but the
configuration menu is reachable. So connectivity is not a problem...
What I would like it to reach it in a structured directory way. In order to
move & delete files (especially movies I've already watched, or need to
reorganize into different folders).

I can do this with a normal Windows based PC, from Internet explorer with
something like http://snake/sda/shared/xxxxx or ftp://snake/sda/shared/xxxxx.
Same approach is not possible thru IPAD.

Any ideas?

That's really strange. The webserver service is pretty much identical to the
configuration menu. Just running on a different port. So you should be able to
access it via http:7/snake:8080

Any chance that there's some firewall in the way?
