Move students between groups

Description

Teacher can move students between groups, by random and manual assignment.

The swap button opens the “Move students between groups” dialog

• Move students between groups view allows the teacher to assign students to groups manually (by drag&drop) or randomly (via the “shuffle” button)
• First they choose one or more existing groups. As they choose, the group and their members appear in the section below.
• In this example, the teacher chose “Art” and “Sciences”
• “Unassigned” lists members that are not in “Art” or “Sciences”
• Next, they can manually drag students between the groups, or click on the “Shuffle” button
• Clicking on the “x” will remove the student from the group and move the student to “Unassigned” if there is only one copy of the student
• For example, Doug is in two groups, so he will need to be removed from both before going to “unassigned”

• This view shows the result of clicking on the “Shuffle” button in the previous page
• All the students in the period have been randomly assigned to “Art” and “Sciences”, and there are no more unassigned students
• The student that was in both groups (Doug) has been randomly assigned to one
• The teacher can click on the “Shuffle” button again, or manually drag and drop students between the groups
• They can click “Save” to save the changes, or “Cancel” to return to the main group view
