Black Screen - On open App

Hi,

Even though I get the Initial screen showing all available apps with the Sidebar, when I click to launch an app, I Get A black Screen.

App Settings:

Can we troubleshoot this?

This is a Rooted Xiaomi Mi9 Phone, running Android 10.

I have a Mi9t and the same issue. App open on tye phone just not in AA on my car screen. I'm using the new AA ui.

Managed to get it working!

Got all logging with: adb logcat -d

The following error seemed to get thrown when launching any app using AAStream:

01-18 21:18:58.913 1576 5348 D ActivityTaskManagerSeviceInjector: MIUILOG- Permission Denied Activity KeyguardLocked: Intent { act=android.intent.action.MAIN cat=[android.intent.category.LAUNCHER] flg=0x10000000 pkg=org.intoorbit.spectrum cmp=org.intoorbit.spectrum/.SpectrumActivity } pkg : com.garage.aastream uid : 10385

The above is a small app called Spectroid (org.intoorbit.spectrum), that I've used as a test, to filter the logs with.

Googling... seems like special MIUI permissions are needed for AAStream. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/56295901/miui-permission-denied-activity-keyguardlocked

Manually enabled everything under:

1. Settings
2. Manage Apps
3. AAStream
4. Other permissions
5. Enable all *

When you Launch AAStreamer in AndroidAuto, make sure to confirm any prompts on the phone (if they come up)

And voila!! It works.

The only issue still present, is Black Screen when the device gets locked. The phone must stay Awake all times, for AAStream to work.

Thanks, I have it working now. Its indeed that the screen was off and locked prior to starting AAstream. Only issue im having now is my home screen wont go to landscape not auto change to landscape in any app. The place I keep my phone in my car, always has it reverting to portrait. Any ideas?

You can try with these settings:

If the app supports landscape (not all do), it should work.

For the life of me I can't find said MIUI settings. Can you share screenshots or precise instructions?

@kentyman23 MIUI settings is likely referring to some settings specific to the XiaoMi version of Android called MIUI

Screen Lock on the phone, makes the Mirror Image on the car, go black. Is there a way, to have the mirror not going black, when the phone locks?

Probably not.

Hi,

There are apps and some options to make Android phones dim while connected to power. MAYBE the car's screen won't dim in that scenario.
