Cannot read Radar screen in sunlight

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. use RADAR on a sunny day

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
black screen

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
most current

Please provide any additional information below.
It would be very useful if the screens which have black backgrounds could 
have an option to be changed to be black on white. It would be useful to 
be able to choose from the menu key.

You can install the GPS Status app. It can be used as a Radar replacement and 
it can be switched to a black-on-white theme.
