Map API fails w/ Android 1.6 / Cyanogen #93

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

When using Android 1.6 or Cyanogen 4.11.1.1, the changes in the Map API (I
assume) cause the map feature of GeoBeagle to fail ...
I do understand that 1.6 isn't officially distributed by most (all?)
network providers, but it might be nice to have GeoBeagle ready for 1.6
when it shows up soon ... :)

Can you verify is this is a Android 1.6 or a Cyanogen problem?

It seems that Maps won't work at all with Cyanogen:

OK, seems like it's a Cyano problem ... at least using the 1.6 sdk with the
emulator,
the map is displayed mostly correct ... (I get a red square where a cache is
when
zooming out, not sure if that's the intended behavior or a bug ...)

Red squares means the map shows cache density instead of individual caches. It
should
turn on whenever zoomed out a bit.
The best we can do is to detect when the map can't be opened and fail
gracefully
instead of crashing.

Checking w/ CyanogenMod 4.1.999, the maps display seems to be working fine
again, so
this issue can be closed as it seems to be caused by the modded rom ...
