Google Maps is not very useful where I live. 
Hence, it becomes more and more necessary for me to rely on other mapping
apps. Top of the list would be rmaps (a generic WMS client), which gives
one-stop access to everything from openstreetmap to kart.statkart.no (Where
I work now. Woo!).

So, are you suggesting that the main map interface have the option to switch to 
rmaps 
(I'd rather not just replace the Google Maps API entirely, as it's still quite 
usable 
in other parts of the world, so making it an option would be the best)?  Do 
they have 
a set of Android classes for it?

Isn't the Send to Maps feature a decent workaround for this feature? There's a 
MapQuest app that supports OSM already.
