Feature Request: Google Summer of code Project Status #119

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

as admin of a mentoring organization I had to keep track of each project's
status. I did it on my own spreadsheet where I entered information
collected from students, mentors, the organization and the system.

It would be neat to have on the dashboard a "project status indicator" - on
the individual project page for mentors and on the overall dashboard with
one indicator for each project for the admin.

The project status indicator should indicate visually whether action is
required and what the current status is.

For the current status, a simple green/orange/red radio-box that can be set
by both the student and the mentor, with a free text field where the user
can indicate why the status changed, e.g. "mentor did not show at meeting
and I am lost" or "unexpected bugs found in codebase will require an extra
day of work".

Action required could be "student final survey required" or "mentor
mid-term survey required".

Both the summarized current status and actions required will reduce admin
work (information collection and nagging people) considerably.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.
