With the Application admin tool you can see which apps are possible to update, however the flow/experience here is bad. You have to open the "Install" dialog and scroll through all the items. You also never get an indication about available updates unless you scroll through this entire list.
I would like to see these two improvement here:
Notify me about available updates
Let me update apps easily (without going into and scrolling through the entire market-list)
This can be done in many ways. Some ideas:
Icon/bubble on the "install"-button that opens a filtered install-dialog
Or add a all new "updates"-button in action bar (only when updates avaiable). This button could also light up when you select one app that has updates available, click to only update that app.
Highlighted label "Update available" placed on each app in the grid, click to update it.
Working with support for many customers of XP I update apps a lot, and right now it is a rather painstaking process with very little overview.
