I have the same issue on version 2.0.54 on windows 11 pro. Search for me does not register any keystrokes at all no matter what I do.
Same issue here search box does not register keystrokes Windows 11 latest version. Works fine on Android 13.
Quick update: if I maximize the window on windows 11 and let the app run for a little while eventually it starts registering keystrokes. But if it is like in the shape of an app size window (not maximized) then no matter the how long I let the app on "idle" (without using it I mean), it does not register anything. Weird issue....

Interesting observation. Was able to reproduce. Also I am able to paste into the field even when keystrokes aren't working
Seems to work not full screen after some time as well
I have the same issue and I observed minimizing and maximizing the window makes it working again.
Can confirm the same issue is happening on 3.0.4
This happens to me too, v3.0.4 on Win 11. I have found out that when I click out of the app to another app and then back to Ente, keyboard entry works. Also; this doesn't seem to happen when 'Lockscreen' (that uses Windows Hello for me) is turned off.
I had the same issue a couple of months ago, faced it again today...
A quick fix for it is to make the app an exception in windows defender. But it only works until you close the app.
I'm surprised that the issue is still present. Please fix it, as it is one of the main experiences with the app.
Here is the closed ticket with helpful replies - https://github.com/ente-io/ente/issues/2053
I confirm that the issue still persists in the latest version. Actually it never went away. :)
This issue still appears.
I managed to solve this by changing the app authentication from windows logon password to custom password. Security > App lock and Choose the option Password.
The easiest way is to just Alt+tab after logging in. That way you don't need to constantly update security settings, and you get to keep finger/face unlock.
Description
Even if the text box has focus and is blinking, using the keyboard doesn't do anything.
Also, and this is a suggestion, it would be fine if starting to write it automatically searches without clicking the button and without having to focus the text box.
