I noticed that there are many developers who don't realize that COM and this package are only compatible with Windows from recently posted issues.
To address this, I have added a Windows badge at the top of the README and included a link to Microsoft's technical documentation on COM.
Additionally, I removed the content merged in #490 from the 'Ongoing plans' section.
