Only visualize vectors by default #45

Scalar contours are working, but currently a bit slow. Make displaying vectors the default.

This should have user-facing controls to click on/off.

Opened #47 to address layer controls.

Yeah this has been changing pretty much at random depending on what I have been working on lately. Turning the contours on at run time should be a fine way to handle it from here out.
