Don't know coffee script, sorry. Hopefully this code finds you well. There's no tests either with this pull request, but hopefully you'll find the methods useful.

I'm sorry but I can't merge only JS changes since the JS version gets overwritten every time coffeescript is recompiled. I'll have a look at it and see what I can port to coffeescript though. thanks
