I really like Magica Voxel app currently using version 0.98 and 0.99 to study together with Blender and Nodes framework.

Alt + Left Click to eyedrop color material index from 3D scene so you can quickly setup Material Emission, Glass, and Metal ness.

The app itself is brilliantly designeed, highly intuitive even for non 3D artists with so many hidden features such as the Console / ability to load script algorithm "Magica Voxel Shader".

Cool Trick: You can apparently DRAG and DROP OBJ into Magica Voxel to voxelize it. Then you can EDIT. It's very interesting. Inside EDIT, you can randomize the Voxel Color.
