Rudder instead of Throttle on M1, when using cppm mode (FrSky) #2

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

Connect Frsky receiver in cppm-mode to rudder input (input 4).
Configuration:
RXsync: cppm
Ch.order: same result on both.
Receiver inputs-screen shows the correct stick-movements.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Throttle signal on M1. Instead I get Rudder on M1 (and also on M8).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0
1.1.1
1.2beta3
1.2beta8

Please provide any additional information below.

This is the first time I tried OpenAero2. Previously I used the kk2-mulitrotor
firmware on this card.
My transmitter is a Turnigy 9x with FrSky transmitter module and openTX
firmware. My receiver is a D8R-II Plus, flashed with the XP 27ms cppm-firmware.
As I wrote earlier on the receiver input screen, every thing looks alright. The
throttlestick seems connected to the throttle channel as it should. It might be
a setting I missed somewhere, but I have tried everything obvious. Channel
mixing for channel 1 is the default 100% throttle.

Hi, sorry I only just saw this as I don't get automatic notifications :)
Just to be clear, M1 to M8 do not map to CH1 to CH8.
M1 to M8 are free to be set up to output whatever channel you have selected.

It would only be a problem if you selected THROTTLE for the Source of M1 and it
actually gave you the RUDDER signal.
Check the sources of the channels to see if they match what you see.

In addition to this problem on the kk mini board the mixing is only ok when
both gyro and accelerometer inputs are off, when they are on: output 6 and 7
become the same.

This also applies when non serial input is used.

This happens when you select a channel for the second aileron. The code
"helpfully" copies the aileron source to ch6/7 of the standard aero mix. You
can just go into the affected output mixer and switch it off.
Stick control comes via the gyros as well as directly into outputs via the
mixers. Setting these up suboptimally might lead to the impression that you are
seeing. Switch "source mix" ON for these two channels and the behaviour will be
consistent.
Better idea would be to move on the the vastly more evolved OpenAeroVTOL, also
for KK2. See videos on the OpenAeroVTOL thread on rcgroups.

Thanks for your reply,
I didn't know about OpenAeroVTOL,
Will try that,
Thanks again.
