Package: synergy Version: 1.3.1-5 Severity: important

From time to time, the synergy client terminates with the following message:

INFO: CScreen.cpp,98: entering screen synergyc: ../../src/xcb_io.c:242: process_responses: Assertion `(((long) (dpy->last_request_read) - (long) (dpy->request)) <= 0)' failed. zsh: abort synergyc -f localhost

The INFO line is from the most recent time; I do not know if that action being the immediately preceeding one is a consistent feature.

Have you had this problem recently? There's some indication that this bug may have been fixed with newer xcb versions.

Hi,

I get a different line number (squeeze version):

INFO: CScreen.cpp,98: entering screen INFO: CScreen.cpp,116: leaving screen INFO: CScreen.cpp,98: entering screen INFO: CScreen.cpp,116: leaving screen INFO: CScreen.cpp,98: entering screen synergyc: ../../src/xcb_io.c:249: process_responses: Assertion `(((long) (dpy->last_request_read) - (long) (dpy->request)) <= 0)' failed. Abortado

I tried to compile sid package in sid (and try download deb from synergy website) in squeeze, but I didn't success

Could be synergy have an 1.3.8 package for squeeze using backports or other resource ?

Thanks !

Finally synergyc 1.3.8 in squeeze got segfault (not significative trace with -d DEBUG (and now I haven't access to exact log / strace trace)).

Now I'm trying synergy 1.4.7 and seems like it is working fine, but really will have to wait two or three days and see if it get again a segfault ...

Thank you very much

Any luck?

I've uploaded synergy 1.4.8 recently; if you've experienced any crashes with 1.4.7, you could try that. I'm not aware of any reason why 1.4.8 would improve on 1.4.7, but I know that upstream continues to work on issues like these.

Hello,

I'm running synergy 1.4.7 in both computers (sid with package and squeeze compiled) from 20 April, and it is working fine. I'm having troubles with keyboard layout in the second computer, but it is another different issue, that I have to investigate some day :-)

No more segfault for me with this environment.

Thank you very much
