[386874] synergys makes keyboard not work in SDL applications

When synergys is running on my system I can't use the keyboard in all SDL applications that are running in windows and not fullscreen. The SDL application doesn't receive any keyboard events anymore as long as the mouse is inside the SDL window. When I move the mouse outside the window it works, but that doesn't work for games that grab the mouse cursor. It doesn't matter if a client is connected or not.

Hi! I'm the new maintainer for synergy. I'm going through some old bugs, and trying to confirm that the bug exists. You had reported a bug on SDL apps; when running in a window with synergys running, you lost the use of the keyboard.

Anyway, I tried to reproduce the bug using frozen-bubble and stellarium as my SDL apps, under both etch and lenny. I wasn't able to reproduce the problem.

Can you still reproduce the problem? If so, what SDL app did you use?

I can still reproduce it with frozen-bubble and enigma. It also happens with EVE-Online using wine. I don't know if that is using SDL too, so the problem may not be SDL related.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, it just deepens the mystery; frozen-bubble works for me, but not for you. :-)

What desktop environment are you using? If it's GNOME or KDE, use of anything other than the "normal" panels, window managers, etc. would be helpful. Use of compiz or other compositing manager would be useful, too.

It doesn't seem to matter. I just tried running an x server with "xinit" so it just opens an xterm window, started twm and synergys and I still had the problem. Normally I use a Gnome environment with metacity.

I even tried running a small SDL program that just prints all SDL key events. As soon as synergy is running it stops printing events when the mouse is inside the windows. If the mouse it outside and the window still has the focus it works. In full screen mode it works even when synergys is running.
