Unknown CHEMs are considered to be linkers, with unknown structures and unknown attachment points. Linker is a monomer used for interconnecting other sequences.
AP-attachment point
Requirements
Connections with unknown CHEM:
When hovering over unknown CHEM, the chemical structure shall not be displayed nor number of attachments points
(attachment points list is also unavailable in the modal window).
Ambiguous connection occurs when creating bonds with unknown CHEMs, since no APs are defined.
When connecting known monomer to unknown CHEM, a user is able to choose any available AP of known monomer while the AP of unknown CHEM stays ambiguous (for known monomers the same rules apply as for connecting regular monomers)
When connecting two unknown CHEMs, no APs are displayed and ambiguous connection occurs.
