@feeds we realized that the last clamp we had was very slow, and we couldn't find a way to properly fix the long screw so it didn't move but was able to turn. We came up with this version, which mimics the y-axis for the clamp, and we now manually fix the clamp in place. I have also created a part that fits onto the screw head, and the user will use this part to actually turn the screw. (It looks like a volume button). FYI: The pictures below don't show the additional parts we can change on the screw, and some holes on the base plate. Any thoughts on this design?

This also looks like a nice design and will make it more usable, if you have the capacity to work on this, it seems like a good idea!

@feeds we printed the parts for the clamp, and I can laser cut and build the latest version of the plotter also. But should this be done until next Tuesday or should we focus on actually pressing the button and button detection on the current build for next (and last) meeting?

Since the demo day will be the last Friday in may (sorry about not being clear about this, I just learned about it after the meeting last week), we still have two meetings.

To me it seems to make most sense to focus on getting all components to work together until Tuesday

Can’t both be done? Doesn’t seem to be such a big deal to me?

Best,

c
