Bug: New user does not show in search results #1040

Describe the bug

I wanted to start a group with two people I met IRL. After the first person created their account, I searched for his new Converse name to start a group, but didn't find it. The second person already had a Converse account, so we got around this by having the new user search for us and create the group.

Expected behavior

  1. User creates a new account
  2. User is ~immediately returned in search results

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Create a new account
  2. Search for that account from another account
  3. See if the newly created account shows up in search

We probably need to update some cache when a user gets created on the backend
