Friendlier exception messages w/ stack trace during Field creation #1

More informative error messages when creating type information objects (as suggested by @arkilic). These also seem like good candidates to include stack traces as they shouldn't be encountered in well behaved code.

Marty, don't merge this yet. I want to see if the CI builder picks this up (with @ralphlange 's recent additions)

Any commit to an existing pull request will also be picked up. The little marks next to the hash in the list of commits under the description show which commits have been built and the build results.
