Contains models and tools to produce short-term forecasts for both case and sequence notifications assuming circulation of either one or two variants. Tools are also provided to allow the evaluation of the use of sequence data for short-term forecasts in both real-world settings and in user generated scenarios.
Some of the package functionality is quite generic at this point. For example the forecast family and some elements of the plotting code (but perhaps to less of a degree). It also replicates functionality from previous projects (i.e EpiNow2, EpiSoon). This could mean several things, with the first being that there is some generic tooling here that could be usefully extracted into a more generic setting. It could also mean that there is already generic tooling this workflow fits in and if it would be good to know what that is and move to use it in the future. Finally, it could be the case that developing this tooling on a project-specific basis is in fact the most efficient approach and so nothing needs to be changed here.
