Issue #847 - Update funding statements

Description

This PR closes #847.

This PR updates the funding statements to reflect the contributions via Nick's group and also to add existing funding sources.

@sbfnk @nickreich do you think this is good as is? Happy to put anything there you think is reasonable.

I also noted @Bisaloo's funding statement is missing from the original paper.

Should this also be the Wellcome grant?

Overall yes, I think it's a good idea to acknowledge funding.
