PWA opening in mail app on mobile device (rather than browser) #730

When I signed into the PWA using my iphone and gmail account, the magic link opened the PWA in my gmail app rather than in a browser (I selected Safari when I was given the option). I tried copying and pasting the magic link into the browser, but it brought me to the home screen/sign in page, not to the dashboard.

@we-ai tested this using his apple mail app, and this issue did not occur

I have tested this issue in my mobile device, and found out an option that if we long press on the magic link and select open link in the Gmail, it navigates to safari browser and it open the page. I am attaching the screenshots for reference.

Vaishnavi and I reviewed this and I think the long hold is a great option to add to the NORC KBA's for trouble shooting if a participant is having an issue. I have 2 additional thoughts:

  1. If a participant completes their questionnaires in their mail app will data be saved? (I tried to test this today, but was having connectivity issues in stage)

  2. Is there any other way for participants to open the PWA in the Safari app if the magic link is in their mail app? If you click on the Safari button in the screen shot below, the participant is asked to sign in again. image
