@MJWainwright could you explain me what is the information to display correctly, primarly with the book and chap type of reference. the user say that the displyed information is wrong. if you use the same file that you send me, you can check if this are displaying good or bad the data. thanks

image So here, the first reference is wrong. It should be my name that appears because I am the author of that chapter. What is being displayed is the editors. Here is how the references for books, edited books, book chapters, etc. should be displayed: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/reference_list_books.html

In Endnote a book chapter is called Book Section: image

As a base there are 4 mains reference software programs:

Hi Damian, as I've shared the book chapters few months ago, I am wondering if this has been addressed? Let me know and I can test this out

@damian-garrido I'm going to email you three categories of book references from three different softwares: Endnote, Mendeley and Zotero. The three types of book references are:

@damian-garrido . A user has now reported a problem with importing a book chapter (iSoQ is selecting the first editor as the first author rather than the Chapter author). So instead of appearing in iSoQ as it should (e.g. Watkins 2018 - i.e. the author of the chapter being cited) it is appearing as Baulch (the first author of the whole edited volume). It is the chapter, rather than the whole edited volume that is being cited. I will send you an email with the RIS file.

Here's how it appears correctly in Endnote: Endnote_correct

Here's how it appears wrongly in iSoQ iSoQ_incorrect

@damian-garrido. The user has just let me know that the same error is occuring with the Spink reference, which is a conference proceeding (i.e. it has been listed using the editor name (‘Bui’)). "Conference proceeding/abstract" is probably a different category of reference in Endnote. Not just a problem with books and book chapters! Simon also mentioned to me the other day that it is also not uncommon for other categories of reference to be used in a review - e.g. website, report.

@damian-garrido I re-sent you all the different examples that I sent in may 2023.
