Overview of codelist used in epos (after 2017.10) #12

There should be an overview of codelist used in epos for both software engineers and scientists. This can be left for future work. But it should be put into consideration.

epos-eu commented 7 years ago

Do you refer to specific tags within the xml files? What files, what tags?

nmtoken commented 7 years ago

We should use existing code lists where possible, such as those defined by INSPIRE http://inspire.ec.europa.eu/registry/ and the Commission for the Application and Management of Geoscience Information (CGI) ~ http://cgi-iugs.org/

sgrellet commented 7 years ago

WP15 is reusing both mentioned above and adding others when needed (when dereferenced this provides RDF/SKOS) For example, See the description of one Borehole attached: https://forge.brgm.fr/svnrepository/epos/trunk/instances/BoreholeView.xml note that in the corresponding xsd (https://forge.brgm.fr/svnrepository/epos/trunk/schemas/epos-lite.xsd) we added to provide the system with the 'root' of each vocab to be used

@wxlfrank @nmtoken @sgrellet If I got it right, I think it is possible to include any codelist within EPOS-DCAT-AP extension.

Would you provide examples on actual EPOS-DCAT-AP extension in order to suggest a viable solution, if it is still needed?

look at drillingMethod</http:paramName> in https://github.com/epos-eu/EPOS-DCAT-AP/blob/master/examples/WP15/BoreholeDataIndex_WFS-EPOS-DCAT-AP.xml the vocab referred to in xml comments (because not possible to declare it in current EPOS-DCAT-AP) is the one from http://cgi-iugs.org/ + slight additions
