keys aren't eliminating groups with no observations #307

most obvious when you set something up for both points and lines for example with a shared group category - if the lines should only show 2 of 4 groups or etc currently they are showing all 4. Are there valid reasons to not want these to show?

This is also causing groups to be labeled wrong in the key (wrong color to group) which occurs in examples as the one above
