Make Courses API stable #14

When would be a good time to release versions 1.0.0 of Courses API and Simple Course Replication API?

Judging from the dev catalogue, many partners have already implemented it. However, I'm also afraid, that none of these implementations have been cross-tested yet.

@wrygiel ; Any idea what the status is of this API and how it relates to the Course Catalogue API called OLA+ that Joao from EUF talked about in the latest webinar? Watch the replay for his exact wording.

This OLA+ API was developed in the context of the Open Source University Alliance

wrygiel has left the team some time ago. We (EWP team) do not know about OLA+ API.

@janinamincer-daszkiewicz , thanks for the quick reply! Do I understand correctly that you (the EWP team) will start working on making stable versions of the API's in the fall when the changes to the OLA are in production?

First of all somebody has to tell us what API is needed :)

Sounds very reasonable 😉 I'm guessing the OLA developers will come up with some specifications for the courses this fall, that will let the institutions and 3rd party providers know what is needed from the EC side. I'm trying my best to understand what comes first, and sometimes get a bit confused by all the info and webinars 😅

I guess webinars explain the vision which usually comes earlier than the respective technical solutions. We will be happy to add new APIs when they are needed.
