Comparable Devices With Sensor Platform #10

One section of our project proposal has been dedicated to looking at the other existing comparable devices with Sensor Platform, and illustrating why our Sensor Platform design can be a better option. The following three links are the ones that we've found in this regard, particularly the first link is more comparable regarding its target audience: http://www.vernier.com/products/sensors/wireless-sensors/node/
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/494937902/arduimu-v4-an-arduino-based-integrated-measurement http://www.cooking-hacks.com/documentation/tutorials/ehealth-biometric-sensor-platform-arduino-raspberry-pi-medical

Based on the requirements of our project, we think price and/or target audience can be the main reasons for not considering these existing designs. Would you also confirm that?

Agreed-and so one-by-one:

  1. Venier - a great solid product with a foothold in the educational domain - but two main disadvantages
    1. Cost Per Unit
    2. Closed Design; it's a black box that's a mystery
    3. Accessibility: Computer with Closed Venier Software ...
  2. Arduimu - well funded project (has an earlier revision)
    1. One unit; Extensibility issues? How could I plug in another sensor?
    2. Steep Learning Curve (teacher + students + parents)
  3. RaspPi/Arduino Shield
    1. Cost (of unit + base unit)
    2. Learning Curve teacher + students + parents)
