Real model used SPO-15 (СПО-15 «Берёза») RWR to detect locks and incoming missiles from the variety of sources:
It is simpler than Arma's vanilla RWR, fits great into plane's gameplay niche and can provide much more engaging gameplay when it comes to evading AA fire.
Investigate it's function, post the findings here, disable vanilla RWR and implement it as UI element in-game for the addon.
Animating in-cockpit RWR doesn't seem possible due to model sources being binarized.
ACE2 RWR would be a decent starting point, see ace_sys_air_rwr module.
