Run test in separate VM #294

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

feature request:

Adding a "JVM Fork" option to application launcher fixture. This ability would
be very useful for
functional test set up when we need to start and exit the app between each run
without killing the
test harness (junit, testng, etc).

I agree, this could be helpful. But, unfortunately we don't support testing UIs
in
another JVM. I'll keep this issue open, but we first need to support multiple
JVMs.

Alex,
If one were to add support for multiple JVMs where do you think the separation
between "client" and "server" should be? at the robot level? I'd like to give
it a try.

Hi Viet,

I have some code related to testing using multiple JVMs that I haven't checked
in.
I'd like to review the code and check it in, before answering your question. I
really
don't remember what I was thinking at that time (end of 07.)

I truly appreciate your help :)
