light in button too dim #1

The light in the arcade button is too dim when lit. Might be an issue of bulb/LED optimized for 5v and only getting 3.3v from Huzzah?

The button is https://www.adafruit.com/product/1194. The LED is too dim regardless of button color. Driving it at 3.3v is almost un-noticeable. 5v is a tad better and 12v (max!) is ok but not usable. It's been suggested to replace the LED and resistor to create a brighter light.

there is a thick button colored piece pinned to the top of the button that absorbs most of the light. I'm going to try a brighter T5 LED, lower resistance, and potentially 3D printing a thinner, close color matched piece.
