'six' was removed from 'astropy.extern' #81

Hi everyone! since the bundled 'six' module was fully removed from astropy 4.0 it is not possible to import pyds9 for the last astropy version anymore. I skimmed through the https://github.com/astropy/astropy/pull/8315 thread and if I understand correctly it is recommended to use separate module https://pypi.org/project/six/ as before, if needed. Could the maintainers please make the appropriate changes in the code? Thanks!

@DougBurke Shouldn't we simply remove the six support? If so, any chance we can get together tomorrow (Wed) for a few minutes?

DougBurke commented 4 years ago

@ericmandel - I am +1 in principle of getting rid of six (if we say "this is python 3+ only" from now on). I am ambivalent to meeting tomorrow as I am currently in an episode of the City of Sick Children, so don't know what my schedule is.

@DougBurke pyjs9 is "python 3+ only", based on advice from python/js9 users, but I will defer to you on the call for pyds9. Visited that rotten city many times in the past, I hope they get better soon, let's talk next week.
