Update tests so they pass on CI #82

Update the code so that the tests pass:

import six directly rather than from astropy (astropy v4 change)
do not need to import astropy pytest plugins (astropy v3 change)
update the astropy-helpers code to v3.2 era
tweak tests being run
disable the windows tests as I have no idea what is going wring there (although the error message did seem to change when I updated astropy-helpers)

@ericmandel - I plan to merge this tomorrow (I may rebase again to remove some testing-style comments in the travis config file), unless you dislike my unsubtle hack of disabling the windows tests (or have some other comments)?

No argument from me, I was never too interested in windows ...
