On page 462 in the chapter summary (aka «glossary») for chapter 17 there is an entry for spherical waves followed by an analogous entry for surface waves.
This makes no sense. For consistency, it should say circular waves or perhaps circular surface waves. In contrast, it is possible and indeed common to have surface waves with straight or otherwise noncircular wavefronts.
