python 2.4.2 incompatibility?

Affected Version: 1.7.4.2
Environment: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (x86_64) 10.3

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. repo init

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
* [new tag]         v1.7.4.2   -> v1.7.4.2
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/local/mnt/workspace/.repo/repo/main.py", line 39, in ?
    from manifest_xml import XmlManifest
  File "/local/mnt/workspace/.repo/repo/manifest_xml.py", line 18, in ?
    import xml.dom.minidom
ImportError: No module named xml.dom.minidom

Please provide any additional information below.

Since a5be53f9c809009e67f217c00b8f30246aacc237 only 2.6 and above is supported.
