You will find in the linked article the complete procedure for generating the
base code of a new theme for Plone 3:
http://davconvent.objectis.net/knowledge/getting-started-with-plone3-theme
This article will be part of the tutorial about themeing Plone (updated
version for Plone 3).
It is there for being accessible before the complete tutorial publication.

Great, we look forward to your contribution!

Here's the theme! I've tested it in Safari 3.0 beta (Windows), Opera 9.5 beta
(Windows), Firefox 2.0 (Windows), and Internet Explorer 6.0 (Windows). If you
want
me to tweak or change anything, feel free to ask.
I recommend using a transparent logo with this theme. I made a transparent
version
of the Plone logo for demo purposes that can be loaded into Plone through the
ZMI.
The logo is attached to this as a separate file from the theme.
Again, if you want me to change or tweak anything, feel free to ask!

Thanks for your suggestions! I'm a bit confused about your comment. It appears
that
the comment above applies task 33 rather than this one. Please advise.

Yeah, you're right. I had the same error message when looking at both of your
submissions, sorry!

It looks like your tar file wasn't created correctly, it has the plonetheme and
python directories twice

You're right. Looks like I copied one too many folders out of lib/python when I
was
doing packaging in 7-zip. Here's the fixed version. If you still have problems,
I'll
be happy to fix them.

Beautiful work! There's a few little things:
1) Feel free to include the transparent logo you created as portal.jpg (it
doesn't
matter that it's a GIF not a JPEG) in a skin layer, that way it will be picked
up
automatically.
2) The resizing font thing is nice, but it isn't persistent. If you look at
http://plone.org/accessibility-info you'll see there are three links for
changing
font size that use javascripts that Plone will persist across pages.
3) The right hand portlet column should have slightly more spacing between
portlets,
and slightly more left hand padding. Also, the calendar should probably be
centre
aligned within the portlet.
Really, excellent work though, well done!

Oh, one more
4) When you have multiple nested layers visible for the navigation portlet
they're
displayed the same as the top level layers, but indented. See
http://python.org/community/ for how the real skin does it.

Here's the improved version of the skin. If you want any more tweaks to be
made, I'm
happy to make them!
