Controller issues with 0.8

The new version is so close to being playable it hurts!  However, when you 
press the d-pad, it 
simulates whichever button is being pressed being released.  I'm not sure 
what's going on under 
the covers with the code, but even if it's tough to detect two presses 
simultaneously, it would be 
better to assume that the button is continuing to be pressed when the d-pad is 
pressed rather than 
assuming it is released.

Anyway, I love this thing!!!

And I'll toss in another vote for the sideways orientation and for scaling the 
display up just a bit to 
fill the entire screen.
