I made you an icon.
I'd also like to help with the GUI if you'd like. Let me know

How do you add this icon to the phone?

Original comment by ss2trunk...@gmail.com on 8 Aug 2007 at 4:12

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
You would replace the icon.png file in the .app package and then reupload the
application to your phone

Great, thanks. I have to restore my phone because I can't seem to install SSH,
but I'll repost the results.

SSH can take a while if you're not familiar with it. Good luck

Actually, it looks like there were a couple files missing. I had to download
the Mac version of the SSH setup files,
specifically to get the "au.asn.ucc.matt.dropbear" file. I also had to get the
"iTunesMobileDevice.dll" file. Once I
added both of those to the SSH folder, everything went perfect. The only
trouble I seem to be having is changing
my password. That, and I don't know where/how to enter the "chmod +x
" stuff.

If you upload the files via "scp -rp NES.app root@IP_ADDRESS:/Applications"
then you won't have to use CHMOD
and you don't have to worry to much about the password

Where would I enter that, though? I've never used this WinSCP program before.
I've tried typing it in the bar at
the bottom and even opening terminal in WinSCP and typing what you said and it
says "no such file or directory."

I'd suggest Putty

Even Putty says the same thing: /usr/local/bin/ssh: No such file or directory
lost connection

I used WinSCP to copy the NES app to the NESApp.app folder in Applications, and
that worked to get the
emulator on the phone, but it's still not showing up on the main menu.

Any ideas?

Then it's a permission issue. Did up run the changed plist file? and made your
you'd upload the CHMOD utility?

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
No, was the plist file in the ssh download? And I still don't know where to
type that chmod stuff.

I can't even get too far with those links. Step one says: Run: ./configure &&
make

Where do I type that?

Original comment by ss2trunk...@gmail.com on 9 Aug 2007 at 3:40

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
If you're unsure how to run ./configure && make (which can only be run on a
Unix based system), then you
should look into using a program that would do it for you.

Ha, I figured it out. My friend helped me out with it. Apparently the
instructions I was using were a bit wrong, I
ended up having the NES app in a folder in the Applications folder. I just put
the app in the Applications folder
and it showed up. Thanks for all the help ajonessn.

BTW, your icon is great. It's sort of retro but it still blends seamlessly with
the default icons.

One last thing, how do I delete roms? When I was at my friend's house, we added
a japanese rom that apparently
doesn't work, but I can't delete it in WinSCP. Any ideas?
