Is there any way you can provide installation instructions?

Alright. Just do this:
mkdir /Applications/NESApp.app/
mkdir /var/root/Media/ROMs/
mkdir /var/root/Media/ROMs/NES/
Then get the files to /Applications/NESApp.app/ using scp or putfile.
chmod +x /Applications/NESApp.app/NESApp
And restart your phone.

Yes thats what I did. I followed the instructions and the app showed up on
my
phone but when I click on it the icon zooms in and nothing opens up. Do I need
to
put ROMS in the roms folder?
Also I didn't understand what I do with "chmod +x
/Applications/NESApp.app/NESApp"
am i typing this in some where?

So I downloaded a tetris.nes rom i found just with a few minutes of googleing
and
put it in that roms folder, still nothing happened,I guess the problem is me
not
knowing what to do with the "chmod +x /Applications/NESApp.app/NESApp" :(

hacktheiphone, dot, com Is the best place to start before you mod your iphone,
go
through the first ten steps then after that it is a lot easier and faster to
add /
change things on your phone

I second that last comment. iPHUC, which that site helps you install and use,
is
really great. putfile and getfile will take you a long ways. Great for adding
ringtones to the phone.

Can someone add an complete installation page, i'm confused with all the how to
install pages, i guess its more files and folders to add in the interface, the
ringtone page was easy but to set up roms, and ssh kits, roms is it a download
or
what, putting files in folders got me mixed up so can someone start from the
beginning of the installation plz, thank you.

Ya it would be nice to have complete instructions, I think I almost have it, I
might
have it but the rom that I downloaded might not be the right type.

My iPhone was never updated. I followed all of the steps detailed on the
website with
the Jailbreak readme. I've gotten the yellow triangle with the message "Please
Connect to iTunes" However, my jailbreak gets stuck at the "Booting iPhone"
phase.
What do i do?

Complete Instructions woud be nice... I was able to successfully Jailbreak and
use iPhone Interface. I put the files
where they needed to be, including the icon. I restarted my phone and there is
no Icon on the home page.

I also do not understand the "chmod" code.
Original comment by zsp...@gmail.com

Before you install this, you all have to install ssh, other wise there is not
way to
chmod +x the file. So everyone follow this guide http://iphone.natetrue.com/
before
trying to install the NES. Good luck

One person needs to make a comprehensive installation tutorial. That would
solve most
problems.

Ok first off you need to get ssh working to the iphone. Google it on the
internet
this is beyond the scope of this how to.
For windows download winscp (google it)
1. Download the NES application and extract it
2. Using winscp or other scp program transfer the extracted directory NES.app
to
the /Applications directory on the iphone
3. Login to the phone via ssh (default login root pass dottie)
4. Make the following directories type this:
mkdir /var/root/Media/ROMs/
mkdir /var/root/Media/ROMs/NES/
5. Using winscp or other copy your roms to /var/root/Media/ROMs/NES/
6. Make the file executable chmod +x /Applications/NESApp.app/NES
7. reset your iphone
Start the NES app and if you see a white screen then quits you need to confirm
you
did step 6 correctly.

I don't see any option for adding applications in iFuntastic, and trying to
drag and drop into the applications
folder doesn't work. So, I'd appreciate it if someone would actually make it
clear what steps the people with Mac
OS X need to take in order to get this on the iPhone, because it's been a week
and I still can't figure it out.

Okay guys, here is the most comprehensive step by step I can provide. I bounced
around websites for hours trying to figure this out but I finally got it.
Here it goes...
Step 1 - Go to Hack the Iphone
(http://www.hacktheiphone.com/iphone_tips_troubleshooting.html)
Read the ten steps and do exactly what it says.
Step 2 - Click on the tab for advanced hacking SSH
http://www.hacktheiphone.com/iphone_install_ssh_windows.html
Do exactly what it says. You may need to do step 11 multiple times. For me,
after
phase 3 it closes the command windows. No worries, run it again. Keep running
it
until you see phase four in the command window. Then, just powercycle again
and you
are good to go.
Follow the rest of the steps, but skip that crap on changing the password, it is
confusing.
Once you are using WINSCP, you can drag files to the iphone. Go to settings,
WiFi,
and figure out your IP. us: root pass:dottie MAKE SURE U SELECT SCP for the
connection type in the drop down.
Note, certain commands are not supported such as mkdir and chmod inside of
WINSCP.
For these commands, you need to use iphoneinterface, which came in the SSHkit
download.
Step 4 -
Download the latest NES zip. Unzip it. Using SCP, drag the folder onto the
Application folder on the iphone using WINSCP.
Then go to iphoneinterface exe in the SSHKit and run the following commands.
mkdir /var/root/Media/ROMs/
mkdir /var/root/Media/ROMs/NES/
Once you have done this, bo back to WINSCP and navigate to the top <root>
directory
of the iPhone. Go to the Command menu options and select terminal.
Then type chmod +x /Applications/NES.app/NES (NOTICE!!!!! - My path is
slightly
different because I did not use the mkdir line referenced above. If you used
mkdir
to make your NEW folder in Applications, then use chmod +x
/Applications/NESApp.app/NES)
It is pretty easy to determine what path you need to type. Merely navigate to
the
NES folder on the iphone and make sure you are running the command on the
proper path.
If you got this far, you should be able to figure out how to download ROMs and
where
to put them.
Good luck!

How do you do all of that SSH stuff in Mac OS X?
Original comment by jcasiswb...@gmail.com

[deleted comment]
Because the itunesmobiledevice.dll file has to be inthe folder with all the ssh
stuff. I'm assuming you're using
Windows, so just search for the file and copy it to the ssh kit folder.

Also, sometimes Windows won't find the file, even though it's on the computer.
www.hacktheiphone.com has
the file for download in one of the Windows guides. I think it's the ringtone
guide.

Vis, use SCP and see where you put the application. What is the path? Then
just put
that in to the command.
