Basic authentication unsupported #132

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.try to use a site that uses basic authentication

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Even if the authentication is typed directly (like user:pass@site), it will
still not recognize it. The same goes for trying to log in with a GUI

Which version are you using?
0.8

By any chance, will the new version on the bunjalloo come out soon? I've been
waiting,
and watching everyday for a new release, but yet nothing.. Can someone please
tell me
if the project is over? I'm really looking forward to v0.9 or 0.81 (what ever
is
going
to be called). Please reply as soon as possible. I want to know if its out
anytime
soon, because the bunjalloo is the only currently updated browser for
flash-carts
(that
does not require a memory expansion)

thanks, and keep up the great work Mr.Quirk

mhm, it's seems like the project is dead. Atleast v0.8 is awesome!

I doubt its dead, because he updated the libpng and other essential files
having to
do with the source code, so a new release (hopefully which is faster) will be
coming
soon.

WOOOO!!! Finally!!! some good news!!! And by the way, it's just slow because
the Ds has low specs. It only has like 8MB of ram (if I can remembering
correctly). It's processor is also a bit slow. I think it averages somewhere
like 56KB/s (as slow as one of the older DSL dial-up routers). And theres so
much into the in-coding for creating the software. It's been quite some time,
so hopefully, this should be the best release yet!

Alright.... I think it's clear Mr.Quirk is a bit busy and probably wont be
getting back the the Bunjalloo project (for a long time... If not just quit it
all together). Not really worth waiting for anymore. Project seems to be over,
sorry guys. :'(

No offense, but who are you to say a project is dead? People don't check this
site every day for updates, if you ever get into the homebrew scene, you will
note that it takes a LONG time for updates and revisions of any software comes
out. Testing and debugging takes forever. It is more reasonable to check maybe
once every 20-30 days and not post issues on the website pertaining to the next
release. This project is not dead until Mr. Quirk says so himself.

come on man, it's almost been a year, Dsi, 3Ds, DsiXl (all the crap) is either
comming out or allreddy out. Major rom sites are all down, either due to leagal
issues or not enough income. Now theres a couple left, like Frozen Roms and Rom
Freaks, but yet still, i mean they arnt putting new games every couple of days.
so we might as well face it, if there ever is a v8.1 its's most likely the
final cuz not many people are still with all their flascarts and Ds, either
grown outta it or with Dsi. Which has a better browser... Benjalloo was like
the only ticket to browsing the web without a expantion pack or computer based
server (aside from DsO which crashes from time to time).

I dunno if it's worth it. I havnt checked the site in quite some time. Not many
poasts or word from Mr.Quirk. He has a life and probally had the bunjalloo as a
side project for fun. Overall, 8.0 is well made, not many bugs, just a bit
slow. so it's your best choice for anyone still with an R4, M3, TTDS (what ever)
