Final Cut Pro + image export crashes #200

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
(enter only *ONE* issue in each report)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Select Export/Final Cut Pro + image
2.Or select Export/Adobe Encore FAB image script

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see export screen but an error window appears with:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue,
the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click
Quit, the application will close immediately.

InvalidArgument=Value of '2' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'
Paramete name: SelectedIndex."

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Subtitle Edit 3.3.12 Win 8.1 64bit

Please provide any additional information below.
This happens occasionally, but when it does a reboot can't clear the problem.
The only way to export FCP + image again is to uninstall/reinstall. The rest
works as normal.

Could you try this debug build: http://www.nikse.dk/SubtitleEditDebug.zip
Portable beta version, should give a line number when it crashes...

Hi, Thanks for sending the email so quick.
I've just tried the portable version. It worked fine for a few exports.
Then I closed it, re-opened it, then exported again. This time I got the
crash window. But so far I don't see a line number. The whole program
didn't crash, just the FCP + images export crashed. Would the line number
come up only if the main program crashed?

 Martin.

I did make the error of opening the installed version, but then closed it again
before doing anything in it. Then re-opened the portable version. I wonder if
that might have an effect on the result.

Thx for testing to quick :)

New versions up - are the crashing fixed? (just try the normal one, and if it
still fails please try the debug one)

"Thx for testing to quick :)" should have been "Thx for testing *so* quick
:)"...

Hi, I tried the new version as linked. After exporting FCP + images many times,
closing and opening, it has been working fine ^-^

The "Adobe Encore FAB image script" export still has a problem, crashing with a
similar unhandled exception error box.

OK, this is another error... could you supply a screenshot of your export
settings + perhaps your file (or how many lines it contains).

Hi, while trying the new debug version I realised that Premiere Pro was using
an image in the folder I was exporting the FAB image script to, an image of the
same name as one of them being exported (I was checking on transparency of
subtitles). Closing Premiere Pro resulted in FAB image script export working
perfectly. Looks like Premiere Pro was locking the image file.

So it's looking like the error window only comes up if there's a locked file
with the same name as one of the files to be exported. That's obviously not
going to work — sorry not to have realised quicker!
