Master password on one safe no longer working #18

The master password on one of my safes (I have 2) on the iPad no longer works. I have used the same passphrase for years. It responds with “passphrase is incorrect”. The passphrase continues to work on my iphone (I have the same passphrase on both devices). Has there been a change to the app which impacts the passphrase?.

Hi @bitbrit1, nothing intentinally was done that would make an existing passphrase stop working. There is a wiki on possible things to do to get your passwords out of the app:

Erik, ai have the exact same issue! My main safe, the one I use the most just wont let me in :( There is no way to change, update or delete a password, and there is no way to recover a password through the app. So I am also locked out of the one safe I use all the time 😂

@Barbie1959, @bitbrit1, do you have multiple keyboards on the devices where you are having trouble opening your safes?

Hi Erik Yes I have two keyboards on my iPad. I tried both keyboards and I get the passcode error regardless of which keyboard. In the past I’ve used the Bluetooth keyboard. I don’t recall if I had ever used the iPad keyboard Best

Hi Erik,

Same thing here. I was attempting to add another password to the safe when it abruptly closed. Now my master password for the safe will not work. I have 2 other safes in the app that still work.

Hmm, sorry to hear that all. Something must be corrupting the password safe file. Has anyone tried to access the files by getting them off of the device and then using another application? https://github.com/erikjjohnson/pwdsafe-iphone/wiki/Getting-your-safes-out-of-the-app
