The correctness of this code is semi-critical for my usage. Without tests, we have no way of verifying that the code is working. One could argue that good performance results are a strong suggestion of working code. I would counter with the > 1 issues citing poor performance, and the fact that a neural network may still learn even if bugs are present.

A testing suite able to be executed via Pytest.

I suppose the only other alternative is using untested code. But I don't need to elaborate on why this isn't a great idea.
I would be willing to assist in this. But I'd like to make sure there's interest first, or see if I'm missing any context here.
